About The Position

Entering Wellness is looking for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) who lives in the Denton County area to assist adults and children who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, and emotional/behavioral issues. For adults, the QMHP will focus on teaching functional and independent living skills, connecting them with community resources, and providing support. For children, the QMHP will provide training to improve communication, problem-solving, anger management, social skills, and interpersonal interactions. The majority of the QMHP's time will be spent providing services in the family home and other community settings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people, strong leadership/mentoring skills, and a solution-oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum number of hours equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
  • Must be a registered nurse.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing therapeutic services for children/adolescents with behavioral challenges on an intensive level.
  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Must have own cell phone.
  • Must have access to a computer/laptop at home (laptop or access to a computer and printer outside of office use).

Responsibilities

  • Providing strengths-based trainings utilizing an evidence-based curriculum to help adults and children develop skills for a more successful existence.
  • Working with the Case Manager to provide Skill Training & Development, Medication Training & Support Services, and Crisis Intervention Services.
  • Implementing the Service/Treatment Plan focused on the adult or child and family needs, recognizing their strengths, and addressing identified client needs.
  • Providing skill-building training in the home or community, including one-on-one skills sessions related to goals and objectives using evidence-based practices.
  • Providing support and crisis/emergency services through face-to-face contact, phone contact, or an on-call system, documenting all crisis assessment, planning, linkage, follow-up, and stabilization.
  • Maintaining all client documentation in the electronic record and writing progress notes adhering to Texas Administrative Code requirements.
  • Utilizing effective listening skills to establish rapport, provide emotional support, and engage family members in the service process.
  • Maintaining records in accordance with regulatory/agency standards, entering data clearly, accurately, and promptly, and submitting documentation for output/outcome measures.
  • Keeping the family and team members informed on progress toward achieving Service Plan goals.
  • Assisting clients with daily living tasks such as behavior management, counseling, budget management, independent transportation, and time management skills.
  • Collaborating with court/probation, tribal/community agencies, families, and other natural support systems to ensure client needs are met.
  • Developing strong working relationships with community partners.
  • Assisting clients in practicing effective communication, problem-solving, and anger management techniques.
  • Participating in staff meetings, monthly trainings, company programs, and professional development trainings as required.
