The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) performs all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors. This role supports the admission, transfer, and discharge process for Residents, and assists Elders with daily living functions such as dental care, feeding, bathing, dressing/undressing, nail care, hair care, and shaving according to expressed preference. The QMA also assists with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc., and performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed, including providing daily Range of Motion Exercises. Recording data as instructed and answering Resident calls promptly are also key responsibilities. The position requires adherence to established safety precautions, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safety equipment like gait belts and mechanical lifts when moving residents.
