Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (QBHP) – Day Treatment School
About The Position
Methodist Family Health is seeking a compassionate, relationship-centered, and resilient Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (QBHP) to join our Day Treatment School team serving students in grades K–8 within an alternative educational setting. In this role, behavioral health and academic success are closely integrated to help students thrive both emotionally and academically. We believe that behavior is communication. Rather than focusing on punishment or control, our team approaches challenges with curiosity, empathy, and a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective. We are looking for professionals who see potential before problems and are committed to helping students build resilience, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of 60 college credit hours.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and detailed records.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic health record system.
- Ability to meet Arkansas Medicaid requirements for QBHP certification, including required training and supervision.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to provide transportation when necessary to support treatment participation.
- Ability to perform CPI interventions and meet physical requirements of working with children in a school environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, child development, or related human services field.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, at-risk youth, or individuals with behavioral health needs.
- Experience in schools, alternative education programs, residential treatment, or community mental health settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop supportive, therapeutic relationships with students that promote trust, safety, resilience, and emotional growth.
- Implement individualized behavioral and therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed therapist.
- Help students develop emotional regulation, coping skills, conflict resolution, communication skills, and healthy decision-making.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to improve engagement, increase classroom success, and reduce behavioral barriers to learning.
- Provide individual, group, family, school-based, home-based, and community-based interventions as appropriate.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute observations, recommendations, and progress updates.
- Partners with families, schools, community agencies, and support systems to enhance treatment outcomes.
- Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with Medicaid and organizational requirements.
- Assist with care coordination and support families in reducing barriers to treatment.
