The Qualified Behavior Interventionist provides direct and indirect support to administrators, teachers, students and families with the coordination of student’s daily behavior regulation, relationship building and problem solving. This role involves behavioral leadership and staff development focused on evidence-based behavioral practices, including modeling these supports while working directly with students. The interventionist will also coach, consult, and collaborate with staff and administrators on positive behavior supports for individual students, assist in identifying and organizing resources, and collect and analyze behavioral data to implement strategies for positive behavioral changes. Collaboration with Child Study Team Members and classroom teachers is essential, as is identifying behavioral escalations and implementing de-escalation strategies. The goal is to minimize student exclusionary discipline by identifying students with high behavioral needs and providing targeted interventions, while also monitoring staff fidelity to Behavior Intervention Plans and observing intervention implementation for procedural accuracy.
