QT Warehouse Quality Oversight Lead
About The Position
Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company is seeking a QT Warehouse Quality Oversight Lead. You will serve as the global quality lead for warehouse-related requirements, standards, and oversight, partnering closely with Logistics, Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Service Quality teams. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving warehouse quality requirements, including Warehouse Requirements frameworks and Quality Assurance Agreements (QAAs). The position focuses on enabling consistent, compliant, and effective warehouse quality practices across the global network, while supporting supplier selection, qualification, monitoring activities. The role does not own day-to-day warehouse operations, but provides direction, oversight, and support to ensure alignment with quality expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Supply Chain, or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in Quality, preferably within regulated industries (medical device strongly preferred).
- Experience working with warehouse or 3PL environments, including involvement in defining, implementing, or assessing quality requirements (e.g., supplier requirements, QAAs, or audit frameworks), to support effective qualification and oversight of warehouse suppliers.
- Experience with supplier qualification, supplier quality management, or warehouse/logistics quality oversight.
- Hands-on experience developing or implementing requirements, standards, or QA agreements (e.g., QAA, supplier requirements, audit frameworks).
- Strong understanding of regulatory and QMS requirements (ISO 13485, FDA QSR, etc.).
- Experience supporting supplier selection, qualification, or consolidation decisions using a risk-based approach.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, including KPI development and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency with SAP, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate requirements into practical guidance.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10–20%.
- Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, maintenance, and deployment of global Warehouse Requirements documents, ensuring clarity, scalability, and alignment with regulatory and business needs.
- Define, implement, and maintain warehouse-specific Quality Assurance Agreements (QAAs), including alignment with supplier types and risk-based requirements.
- Lead with a focus on defining expectations, enabling consistency, and ensuring appropriate oversight mechanisms are in place by partnering with Procurement, Logistics, and Supplier Quality to support warehouse supplier selection, evaluation, qualification, and monitoring activities.
- Provide quality input and guidance during warehouse supply base selection and qualification activities to ensure risk-based decision making.
- Serve as the primary quality point of contact for warehouse-related requirements, providing guidance, clarification, and interpretation to global stakeholders.
- Drive standardization of warehouse quality practices across sites, including receiving, storage, handling, segregation, returns, refurbishment, and dispatch.
- Establish risk-based monitoring and oversight models for warehouses, leveraging Supplier Quality and Service Quality teams for audits and ongoing surveillance.
- Partner with Supplier Quality and Service Quality to ensure effective execution of audits, assessments, and corrective actions at warehouse suppliers.
- Ensure alignment of warehouse practices with QMS, SCM processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA QSR, applicable regional regulations).
- Monitor and analyze warehouse-quality related KPIs to identify trends and drive systemic improvements.
- Support the definition and governance of data, metrics, and reporting related to warehouse quality performance.
- Lead or support cross-functional Quality improvement initiatives addressing key warehouse and supplier-related quality risks.
- Enable a clear connection between warehouse activities and quality processes such as QNs, CAPAs, and MRBs.
