About The Position

This position is for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) in the Washington D.C. and Maryland area, working for a Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver Provider. The role involves significant responsibility in the care and support of persons with disabilities, including supervision, program development, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field
  • Two years of verifiable experience directly related to the care of persons with disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and a clear driving record
  • Cleared and approved criminal record check
  • Legal status in the U.S.
  • First Aid/CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the progress of persons with disabilities, including writing and chairing Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP) meetings, developing training and service objectives, and instructing staff on continuous implementation of plans.
  • Maintain frequent and consistent contact with representatives of DDS.
  • Supervise and develop Direct Service Professionals, including onboarding, payroll changes, staff meetings, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and managing daily staffing operations.
  • Execute and provide input for new strategies and programs to attract persons with disabilities and conduct facility tours.
  • Prepare and evaluate employee job performance, make recommendations for personnel actions, assign staff duties, develop staff schedules, and coordinate staff leave time.
  • Monitor and document client progress, including data collection, periodic progress reports, and other documentation as required by governing bodies or company management.
  • Develop and supervise the implementation of ISP/BSP, monitor staff for correct implementation and effectiveness, and determine program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate community activities, including day training, employment, and recreational activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, persons with disabilities served, families, case managers, and other agencies.
  • Manage the health and safety of persons with disabilities through preventive techniques, manage minor illnesses or injuries, and provide assistance in medical emergencies. Schedule and coordinate medical appointments.
  • Maintain and implement ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations/standards, including Medicaid Waiver.
  • Provide on-site review and oversight of the facility, including routine maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with health, safety, petty cash, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage finances in compliance with the facility budget, including overtime, residential and household accounts, grocery shopping, and general facility management.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training as scheduled and conduct in-service training for direct care staff.
  • Share on-call responsibilities as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
