About The Position

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized program plans for individuals receiving services in Arc of Acadiana's Residential Community Group Homes. This role ensures services are person-centered, compliant with regulatory requirements, and focused on helping individuals achieve meaningful outcomes while supporting staff in delivering quality care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered planning and service coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet regulatory deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Program Plans (IPPs), person-centered documentation, and related assessments based on individual strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Complete assessment summaries, observation summaries, monthly summaries, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor individual progress and revise program plans as needed to support successful outcomes.
  • Ensure active treatment activities are implemented consistently and effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, licensing standards, and agency policies.
  • Participate in licensing surveys, audits, and corrective action activities as assigned.
  • Observe individuals in residential settings to ensure services are delivered according to approved plans.
  • Participate in the screening and admission process for prospective residents.
  • Complete required admission and pre-admission documentation.
  • Review placement recommendations in collaboration with the Program Manager and/or Director.
  • Support individuals in accessing community and recreational opportunities that promote independence and inclusion.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) regarding individualized objectives and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure staff follow approved schedules, programming, and data collection procedures.
  • Assist staff in meeting the daily support needs of individuals receiving services.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, including quarterly, annual, and other required meetings.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Program Manager and/or Director regarding client progress, concerns, and program needs.
  • Communicate professionally with families, legal guardians, case managers, provider agencies, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Review incident reports and ensure timely follow-up and appropriate corrective action.
  • Immediately notify leadership of all critical incidents.
  • Promote the health, safety, and welfare of individuals served.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuations, and continuity of services during natural disasters or other emergencies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and organizational information.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and ethical decision-making.
  • Travel between residential locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director.
