About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive QHSE Advisor to support operational teams in maintaining and enhancing Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all projects. This role plays a key part in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and capable of working closely with field personnel and clients to align with business and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a QHSE or safety advisory role (industrial, construction, or oil & gas preferred)
  • Experience supporting compliance programs and field operations
  • First Aid / CPR Certification
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence and support teams without direct authority
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and industry standards
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety excellence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools
  • Must be willing to be away from home for extended periods
  • Ability to safely access and inspect work sites

Nice To Haves

  • CRSP, CSP, NCSO, NEBOSH, or equivalent
  • Additional safety or environmental certifications are an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of business growth strategies through strong operational and safety practices
  • Communicate effectively with clients and field personnel to meet project and business requirements
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships to deliver value through innovation, integrity, and service excellence
  • Assist in ensuring all project pre-planning requirements are completed (e.g., operator qualifications, drug and alcohol compliance, safety training)
  • Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to safety standards and client expectations
  • Travel to job sites to provide field-level QHSE support as required
  • Track project compliance with safety and quality requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of QHSE policies and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining the Business Management System, including ISO-related processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and client expectations
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in hazard identification and risk assessments, recommending control measures
  • Support investigations into incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, including root cause analysis
  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Track and report QHSE performance metrics and trends
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure project documentation meets corporate and client standards
  • Promote a strong safety culture and environmentally responsible practices
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, and readiness activities
  • Assist with environmental compliance efforts, including waste management and emissions considerations
  • Encourage sustainable practices aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements
