About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for carrying out daily quality control and food safety activities throughout the processing facility to ensure products meet safety, regulatory, and customer standards. The QC Tech is expected to work closely with operations.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and food safety standard
  • Ability to communicate effectively and use basic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a production environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 10 hours) and perform repetitive tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follow all food safety, food quality, food defense, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) programs
  • Perform pre-operational inspections of the processing facility prior to production
  • Sample and evaluate product attributes, accurately document results, and communicate issues to the Supervisor when standards are not met
  • Work with USDA inspectors to ensure compliance with all regulatory and food safety requirements
  • Monitor packaging operations to confirm product accuracy, labeling, and order counts.
  • Conduct and document non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Perform receiving inspections, equipment checks, calibration verification, and basic quality-related lab testing
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality records and notify supervision when supplies are low
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by following GMPs, safety procedures, and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
