About The Position

Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor, the QC Technician will be required to assist QC personnel with their day-to-day responsibilities, including monitoring of production processes, verifying machined parts conform to drawing requirements, data recording, and other duties as needed by the QC Supervisor. This role involves ensuring production quality and efficiency using appropriate tools and equipment, and being qualified to perform special processes as needed. The technician will utilize drawings and specifications to develop plans for basic manual verification, evaluate parts and processes to ensure they meet specified requirements per inspection plans, and complete inspection steps on the router to properly indicate pass/fail and note the time for traceability. The position requires knowledge of proper inspection techniques for accurate results and the ability to perform dimensional inspection on precision machined products and assemblies unassisted. The technician must follow instructions, read blueprints and work instructions, and understand and perform duties described in written procedures. Additionally, the role includes maintaining safety and housekeeping standards, practicing safety at all times, following safety policies, wearing required safety equipment, and keeping a clean work area. The technician is also expected to contribute to continual improvement by keeping an open mind to suggestions and bringing their own ideas to the appropriate team member. Professional development is encouraged through demonstrating initiative, a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and following up with the supervisor on goals and opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of fabrication experience.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications including Excel and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by GHM, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on GHM or the client’s property or job site.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.

  • Experience reading technical drawings desired.
  • Have basic knowledge of a variety of machining processes.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Trades School in Welding or Inspection (preferred)
  • Drive to be detail oriented and willingness to learn specification requirements.

Responsibilities
