About The Position

Metromont LLC, a leader in the construction industry for nearly a century, is seeking a QC Technician PCI Level III to join their dynamic team. Founded in 1925, Metromont is a third-generation company with nearly 1,500 associates across six manufacturing facilities. They are a pioneer in the engineering and manufacturing of precast concrete, working closely with customers from project design through completion. Metromont offers complementary design and engineering, hauling, erection, and field services to support full construction needs, providing innovative precast solutions for various structures like parking structures, data centers, multifamily housing, office buildings, warehouses, schools, and stadiums.

Requirements

  • PCI Level III certification.
  • Ability to test concrete materials, plastic concrete, and concrete strength specimens.
  • Proficiency in reading shop cards.
  • Experience conducting pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
  • Skill in operating lab equipment and hydraulic stress jacks.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Capability to inspect basic welds for size and quality.
  • Experience inspecting rebar for grade, steel type, and bend diameters.
  • Ability to mark finished product with cast date, mark number, and job number.
  • Skill in checking finished product accuracy against job plans.
  • Ability to assign and place PCI dot codes.
  • Experience testing aggregates.
  • Experience testing concrete (Conventional and SCC).
  • Ability to conduct concrete strength tests.
  • Proficiency in running or using quality control equipment.
  • Ability to perform simple low voltage electronic wiring for test equipment.
  • Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Testing concrete materials, plastic concrete, and concrete strength specimens.
  • Reading shop cards.
  • Conducting pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
  • Running lab equipment and hydraulic stress jacks.
  • Maintaining accurate records to ensure manufacturing meets PCI tolerances.
  • Checking paperwork and shop tickets for proper organization.
  • Completing pre-pour and post-pour inspections in the QC APP.
  • Recording product deficiencies in Concrete Vision and sending out Repair Details.
  • Inspecting basic welds for size and quality.
  • Inspecting rebar for grade, steel type, and bend diameters.
  • Marking finished product with cast date, mark number, and job number.
  • Checking finished product for complete accuracy in accordance with job plans.
  • Assigning and placing appropriate PCI dot code on product.
  • Testing aggregates.
  • Testing concrete (Conventional and SCC).
  • Conducting concrete strength tests.
  • Running or using all quality control equipment.
  • Performing simple low voltage electronic wiring for test equipment.
  • Adhering to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Performing housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
