About The Position

Border International is now hiring a QC Pick-Up and Delivery Driver in El Paso, TX. A QC Pick-up and Delivery Driver operates a tractor/trailer back and forth to the customer yard and dealer. A key measure of success includes high utilization of tractor, trailer, and other company resources, performing road tests for repair verification or diagnosis, and maintaining clear records from citations and accidents.

Requirements

  • Class A commercial driver's license (CDL); must meet insurability standards.
  • Must successfully pass background and drug test pre-employment screening.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Flexible schedule – must be available to work some Saturdays.
  • Must be able to utilize both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Be reliable and professional.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced retail environment.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 40% English comprehension is required by DOT.
  • No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • No DUI/DWI within the last 5 years to qualify.
  • No convictions within the previous 5 years prior to qualification.
  • No chargeable/avoidable accidents within the previous 3 years of qualification.
  • No license suspensions/revocations within the last 3 years.
  • No FMCSA (DOT) related drug or alcohol testing violations.
  • Must meet all DOT driver qualification regulations.
  • Must have valid DOT physical.
  • Must have an acceptable PSP.
  • Must not have a current clinical diagnosis of alcoholism.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates in a clear and consistent manner with high integrity.
  • Visual and verification of repairs, performs QC inspections, before delivering unit.
  • Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports discrepancies on write-up sleeves.
  • Obtains customer signatures when picking up units.
  • Complies with and maintains good safety practices with DOT safety regulations and procedures.
  • Immediately performs and follows the appropriate DOT procedures if involved in an incident or accident.
  • Complies with fuel-efficient driving guidelines.
  • Properly hooks/unhooks trailers.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license for the state in which the employee performs his or her driving duties.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record, i.e., must remain insurable under our company's liability insurance policy.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
