About The Position

IMG, an Ichor Company, is hiring a QC Inspector for its Larkin manufacturing facility in Scotts Valley, CA. This role supports the manufacturing of high-precision aerospace and defense components and assemblies. The QC Inspector performs dimensional, visual, and process inspections of precision-machined components of varying complexity, and incoming materials to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards such as AS9100 and other customer requirements, and company standards.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in print reading and GD&T
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
  • Attention to detail with requirements and documentation
  • Ability to communicate and operate in a smaller, team-based environment
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software packages such as MS word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Customer oriented and service-minded
  • 1+ years of manufacturing or related experience
  • US Person status required due to ITAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of an ERP systems, GSS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of inspection tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gages, CMMs, optical comparator, microscopes, vision systems, and drop gages, to perform spindle first article inspections on new batches of parts.
  • Perform receiving, set-up, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with control plans and work instructions.
  • Record measurements and populate inspection reports or related documents as specified by product control plans and work instructions.
  • Complete inspection reports and other documents in adherence to regulatory and quality standards such as AS9100 and other customer specific requirements.
  • Mechanically and visually inspect parts at various stages of the production process.
  • Monitor complex components to tight tolerances.
  • Interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Perform open-layout inspections as required to support product control plans and First Article requirements.
  • Provide CMM programming support, including running first-time programs, tuning existing programs, and assisting with troubleshooting; light programming may be required.
  • Provide information and clarification to machinists regarding inspection requirements and results.
  • Develop inspection reports and measurement tracking as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and internal quality standards.
