Requirements

  • 1 – 2 years quality experience
  • Ability to perform minor inspection checks using precision measuring devices
  • Ability to read and apply process specification, customer and contract requirements
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand B/P requirements
  • Ability to obtain necessary certifications to comply with all regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Open shipping containers and validate packing slip to product received
  • Perform contract review, read and interpret customer and flow down requirements (SPOC’s)
  • Assign tracking number(s) job and lot numbers
  • Assign job traveler
  • Verify part count and perform visual inspection on each component
  • Document incoming discrepancies and take appropriate actions to correct non-conformities
  • Work to the production schedule and release components in accordance to delivery plan
  • Perform in-process and outsourcing inspections to meet delivery dates
  • Perform in-process inspections checks in accordance with Chromalloy routing instructions ensuring compliance to the technical data, customer and specification requirements
  • Audit routing validating all prior operations have been processed to the routing instructions and verify each component complies with all quality requirements
  • Assist production personnel in solving quality issues and concerns
  • Assure vendors are active and are on the approved vendor list
  • Create purchase order for spot operations and route component for processing
  • File both incoming and outgoing documentation
  • Review incoming certifications from the outside processors ensuring purchased items and services conform to contract and specification requirements
  • Document incoming discrepancies and take appropriate actions to correct the non-conformities
  • Record observations and make recommendations for improving the process
  • Inspect for completion of all manufacturing processes
  • Measure components using precision measuring devices, micrometer, dial caliper etc. when necessary
  • Document discrepancies and take appropriate actions to correct the non-conformities
  • Ensure components comply to specification customer requirements
  • Validate lab results
  • Verify part count, serial numbers and lot number control
  • Part mark components
  • Complete internal paperwork and validate accurate documentation for each process
  • Complete certification of compliance
  • Package product in accordance with customer and Chromalloy requirements
  • Drive quality and process repeatability
  • Implement mistake proofing methods
  • Work with supporting departments, Quality, Engineering creating inspection methods to drive repeatability and to ensure that in-process measurement techniques are correlated with the Quality methods of inspection
  • Assist in the disposition of non-conforming product and propose solutions to eliminate defects
  • Initiate corrective actions when necessary
  • Evaluate reject data, separate process defect from training issue and communicate to the shop supervisor training needs
  • Communicate scheduling constraints to the department supervisor and production planner to ensure customer expectations are met and parts move quickly after completion to their next operations
  • Train lesser skilled employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned
