About The Position

The QC Inspector is responsible for managing all quality pass and fail decision points for in-process and finished products, including fabricated material and assemblies. This role involves performing quality checks to verify that products meet company standards and specifications, conducting electrical and mechanical functional tests, and performing dimensional inspections using various measuring tools. The inspector will also be responsible for creating nonconformance reports, informing management and production teams of rejected parts, and escalating non-compliances to QA management. Additionally, the role includes learning in-line production checklist procedures and completing first article logs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience measuring electrical components in a manufacturing capacity or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a Safety First culture at all times.
  • Manage all quality pass and fail decision points for in-process and finished products, including fabricated material and assemblies.
  • Perform quality checks in department to verify that product meets company standard and specification.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical functional tests on all received parts to confirm that no damage was sustained during shipping and record results on appropriate reports.
  • Perform basic dimensional inspections on parts using micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, etc. to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Create nonconformance reports for parts that do not meet product specifications.
  • Inform appropriate management and production team members of rejected parts.
  • Escalate and report all non-compliances identified across inspection points to QA management in a timely manner.
  • Begin to learn the in-line production checklist procedures for product lines of the business.
  • Complete first article logs and properly save them to the Quality tracking system.
