This position reports to the Director of Quality and Research and is responsible for performing inspections to support factory production. This includes first-pieces, incoming production materials, incoming samples, prototypes, in-process materials, finished goods, outgoing materials, and resource-specific production audits. The role provides front-line support to production for acceptance/rejection criteria and quality-related issues. It also supports investigations into quality issues by locating, quarantining, and sorting suspect materials. Key activities involve analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, inspecting and testing materials using appropriate instruments, analyzing test data, and recording inspection results. The inspector will reject non-conforming products, assist in creating MRRs, CAPAs, and engineering change requests, and discuss inspection results with responsible parties, recommending corrective actions. The role also involves notifying supervisors of production problems, assisting in their correction, performing calibrations, participating in ISO audits, and training personnel. Record-keeping for corrective actions, inspection results, calibration records, and engineering changes is essential. Other related tasks may be assigned.
