About The Position

The QC Inspector I is responsible for conducting pre-pour and post-pour inspections to ensure concrete members meet required tolerances according to shop cards and PCI standards. This role also involves performing concrete testing, witnessing stressing, and establishing adequate curing controls. All employees are expected to adhere to safety and quality rules to ensure a safe working environment and high-quality products.

Requirements

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Responsibilities

Conducts pre-pour and post-pour inspections to ensure concrete members achieve tolerances as required by shop cards and PCI.
Performs concrete testing, witnesses stressing, and establishes adequate curing controls.
Inspects bed set-up according to shop drawings for proper size and placement of all reinforcement, including strands, plate location, and all structural connections.
Notes any nonconforming items and notifies proper personnel to bring product into conformance.
Performs concrete testing: slumps, unit weights, air content, release cylinders, 28-day cylinders.
Sets up steam clocks to ensure proper curing temperature.
Monitors finishing procedures in the finishing shed.
Inspects final products, notes any non-conformances, and notifies the Engineering Department for approval or repair work order.
Tags conforming products with a green tag and nonconforming products requiring engineering approval with a red tag.
Checks red-tagged members after repair to ensure they conform to Engineering's requirements.
Draws up and submits all non-conformances for engineering approval in writing.
