About The Position

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls, is a technology-driven company specializing in hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions. We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our growing industry. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the direct examination of products to ensure they meet quality standards, procedures, legislation, and customer specifications. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and strict adherence to the organization’s quality assurance procedures and policies. The inspector will identify defects and/or production errors to prevent them from entering the supply chain. Additionally, the QC Document Control Clerk is responsible for documentation control and OPL creation.

  • Critical eye for identifying defects.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and perform simple mathematical fractional equations.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read blueprints is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain QA/QC control documentation
  • Document Control – organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos provided by inspectors
  • Daily inspection of in-process units: ensure sealing is completed, no missing parts, and all other in-process inspections are of high quality
  • Ensure productions are inspected as determined by company requirements, checking of paperwork
  • Daily inspection of paperwork for all in-process units and report any deficiencies to Quality Supervisor
  • Complete sub-assembly inspections such as: motors, coil, evap., furnace, and paint
  • Complete unit final inspections
  • Review inspection documents and make unit packages
  • Report any observed safety issues to the Safety Coach or Safety Coordinator
  • Assist with education of other inspectors and production team members
  • Inspect drawings and marking/breaking work and ensure it is correct
  • Assist marking with Engineering changes where drawings are not correct and submit to Quality Supervisor
  • Inspect all aspects of units with the appropriate forms from the beginning to the end and record all discrepancies
  • Organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code
  • Other duties as required
