About The Position

The QC Inspector 1 ensures that raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished products meet the quality standards and specifications defined by the Quality Management System. The role supports Dexter Magnetic Technologies’ commitment to high-quality products through thorough inspections and collaboration to address quality concerns.

The inspector checks incoming materials, components, and assemblies against specifications, customer requirements, and engineering standards; manages non-conforming materials; records inspection results; and prepares packaging and traceability documentation. The position also contributes to cross-functional quality issue resolution and maintains a clean, safe, organized work environment using 5S methodologies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong computing skills, including experience with MS Office and MRP systems.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels and promote collaboration in resolving non-conformance issues.

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary education.
• Experience with Epicor MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, components, and assemblies for compliance with specifications, customer requirements, and engineering standards.
• Tag, document, and quarantine non-conforming materials, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Accurately record inspection results in company systems in accordance with established work instructions.
• Prepare initial packaging, generate barcode labels, and complete required traceability documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and make timely decisions about raw materials and components.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while practicing 5S methodologies.
• Support other QC Inspectors with basic inspection tasks as needed and assigned.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality initiatives.
