QC Inspector 1
About The Position
The QC Inspector 1 ensures raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, and finished products meet quality standards and specifications defined by the Quality Management System (QMS). The role supports Dexter Magnetic Technologies’ commitment to product quality through thorough inspections and collaboration to address quality concerns. The position inspects incoming materials and assemblies, documents inspection results, manages non-conforming materials, and supports traceability through initial packaging, barcode labels, and required documentation. It also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams on quality issues, maintaining an organized work area using 5S practices, and assisting other QC Inspectors as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong computing skills, including experience with MS Office and MRP systems.
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels and promote collaboration and resolution of non-conformance issues.
Nice To Haves
- Post-secondary education.
- Experience with Epicor MRP systems.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, components, and assemblies for compliance with specifications, customer requirements, and engineering standards.
- Tag and document non-conforming materials, place them in quarantine, and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
- Accurately record inspection results in company systems according to established work instructions.
- Prepare initial packaging, generate barcode labels, and complete required documentation to ensure traceability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and make timely decisions about raw materials and components.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while practicing 5S methodologies.
- Support other QC Inspectors with basic inspection tasks as needed and assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality initiatives.
