About The Position

The Quality Control (QC) Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining test automation, scripting solutions, and quality control processes to enhance testing efficiency and product quality. This role involves close collaboration with various teams, including Product QA, Failure Analysis (FA), R&D, Contract Manufacturer (CM), and cross-functional departments, to investigate issues, conduct root cause analysis, validate corrective actions, and drive continuous quality improvement. The engineer will also work with the Burn-in Test Program Development team to ensure the functionality, stability, and coverage of burn-in test programs, and will execute manual and automated testing across hardware, software, and firmware platforms. A key responsibility includes performing New Product Introduction (NPI) quality validation on FortiGate hardware platforms, which involves creating test plans, cases, and specifications. Additionally, the role requires designing, configuring, and maintaining test environments and network racks, supporting multiple product lines, and training technicians and team members globally. The position requires the ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment, including handling and installing equipment up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in network testing, product validation, quality assurance, manufacturing testing, or troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, hardware systems, and product validation methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Proficient in PC hardware, operating systems, communication ports, and communication software tools.
  • Experience with Linux environments, shell scripting, and automation frameworks.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in one or more languages such as Python, C, Perl, VBScript, or Robot Framework.
  • Strong understanding of QA processes, test methodologies, and test automation concepts.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, quick learner, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong Chinese communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to safely lift and rack equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test automation, scripting solutions, and quality control processes.
  • Collaborate with Product QA, FA, R&D, CM, and cross-functional teams to investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and validate corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the Burn-in Test Program Development team to validate, maintain, and enhance burn-in test programs.
  • Execute manual and automated testing, diagnostics, debug activities, issue reproduction, and verification across hardware, software, and firmware platforms.
  • Perform NPI quality validation on FortiGate hardware platforms, including developing test plans, test cases, and test specifications.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain IQC testing, rework processes, and automation scripts.
  • Review and approve code changes and Git merge requests.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and engineering teams to ensure NPI testing requirements are completed on schedule.
  • Design, configure, and maintain test environments and network racks.
  • Independently build, configure, troubleshoot, and support complex test infrastructure.
  • Support multiple product lines by maintaining test systems and validating manufacturing processes.
  • Train technicians and team members on testing procedures, quality processes, and best practices.
