About The Position

The QC Chemist I tests raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and stability samples in Quality Control Laboratories to determine the chemical identity, potency, and purity of pharmaceutical products manufactured by American Regent, Inc. The role performs analytical testing accurately and efficiently in accordance with current guidance and established procedures.

The position also involves operating laboratory instruments, performing wet chemistry, maintaining laboratory cleanliness and GMP documentation, and calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory instruments. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking.
• Knowledge of HPLC instrumentation and software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Near vision of 20/40, correctable with eyeglasses or contact lenses, and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory instruments, including pH meters, balances, autotitrators/Karl Fischer titrators, HPLC/GC, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, UV-VIS spectrophotometers, osmometers, and polarographs.
• Test raw material, in-process, and finished product samples.
• Perform wet chemistry procedures, including titrations and extractions.
• Clean general glassware and laboratory areas.
• Maintain GMP documentation of all activities.
• Calibrate, perform basic troubleshooting, and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
