About The Position

The QC Chemist I tests raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products to determine chemical identity, potency, and purity. The role performs analytical testing of stability samples in the Quality Control Laboratories in accordance with current guidance and established procedures. The Chemist operates and maintains laboratory instruments, performs wet chemistry, and maintains GMP documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Knowledge of HPLC instrumentation and software.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Near vision of 20/40, correctable with eyeglasses or contact lenses, and color vision.

Responsibilities

Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples.
Operate laboratory instruments, including pH meters, balances, autotitrators and Karl Fischer titrators, HPLC and GC systems, ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments, UV-VIS spectrophotometers, osmometers, and polarographs.
Perform wet chemistry procedures, including titrations and extractions.
Clean laboratory glassware and maintain general laboratory cleanliness.
Maintain GMP documentation of all activities.
Calibrate, perform basic troubleshooting on, and maintain laboratory instruments.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
