Requirements

  • 2–5+ years in QA/QC, commissioning, or electrical/mechanical field work.
  • Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with Switchgear, UPS, generators, HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of commissioning processes (Level 1–5 ideal).
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • NETA certification (or working toward).
  • OSHA 10/30.
  • Experience with commissioning software / documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC inspections on electrical and mechanical installations.
  • Verify installations align with drawings, specs, and submittals.
  • Support pre-functional and functional testing activities.
  • Assist with commissioning documentation (checklists, test scripts, reports).
  • Identify and track deficiencies (punch list management).
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, commissioning agents, and GC.
  • Witness and document equipment testing: Switchgear energization, UPS startup, Generator load testing, Protection & relay testing.
  • Ensure compliance with NETA standards, OSHA safety requirements, and Project-specific QA/QC plans.
  • Support turnover documentation and closeout packages.
  • Inspect and verify installation of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Support commissioning and startup activities across all systems.
  • Execute QA/QC processes in accordance with project standards.
  • Document test results and maintain quality records.
  • Work closely with field teams, subcontractors, and commissioning agents.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues during startup.
  • Ensure all work meets safety and compliance requirements.
