We are looking for a talented individual… to join our team as a Commercial QA/QC Technician! In this role, you will serve as a local on-site program and company representative to commercial customers. You’ll be responsible for conducting energy efficiency HVAC Maintenance Tune-Ups, pre- and post-installation verifications for Incentivized Energy Efficiency Projects, and other technical inspections across a defined territory. Successful candidates will reside in either McAllen, TX; Laredo, TX or Corpus Christi, TX for frequent travel within the territory. Company vehicle is provided.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of HVAC or equivalent mechanical experience, with familiarity in lighting systems, controls, and energy efficiency technologies
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assess a variety of systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant technical certification/training preferred
  • EPA Type-Universal certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and audits of commercial energy efficiency upgrades to HVAC systems, lighting systems, and other mechanical installations
  • Perform pre- and post-installation inspections to verify proper implementation and performance of energy-saving measures
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to perform inspections, with frequent overnight travel
  • Evaluate HVAC Tune-Ups and other system upgrades for compliance, performance, and safety
  • Inspect lighting systems and other mechanical components with a focus on technical aptitude and safety standards
  • Provide detailed feedback and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning, and effectiveness
  • Operate and manipulate mechanical HVAC equipment to enable functional testing with technical equipment
  • Accurately take airflow measurements on HVAC systems
