About The Position

The QA Testing Manager (Automation) manages a team of Testing / QA professionals in providing a broad range of test services and solutions, ensures established standards are met and planned objectives are achieved. This role manages multiple testing teams for functions/projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g., multi-function within line of business, tier 2-5 projects / programs). The individual works independently and often autonomously in the management of teams and operational disciplines and develops strategic thinking/planning in the execution of work plans. They orchestrate the development of resolutions, plans and strategies for operational advancement, provide strong knowledge of QA methodology, best practices and processes while contributing to the direction for testing methods and tool selection. This role coordinates and prioritizes multiple testing initiatives and champions the optimization of test activities across projects, manages the development and implementation of new testing strategies and directives, and possesses strong knowledge in project financial management and reporting, sound knowledge of external industry trends in relation to competency, and sound knowledge of business and/or delivery practices/disciplines. Knowledge of principles, practices and IT processes appropriate to the development and stewardship of quality delivery is also required.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 7+ years related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree, preferred
  • Experience with Jira and JTMF/Zephyr
  • Strong understanding of sprint planning, backlog Refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, requirement reviews, quality gates, and release readiness activities. Must understand the purpose and expected outcome of each ceremony.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC, test planning, SIT, UAT, E2E testing, regression testing, risk-based testing, defect management, release validation, and test reporting
  • At least 3 years of hands-on automation development experience with Java
  • At least 1 year of hands-on automation development experience with TypeScript

Responsibilities

  • Create a scalable automaton framework specifically used on a Mainframe 3rd party application
  • Create an automation strategy to include; current state, gaps and areas of improvement, metrics, and objectives
  • Work with already established Best Practice and suggest modifications based on CCUL Testing teams environment and process
  • Identify and establish an automation environment to ensure best use of time and gain efficiencies
  • Work with Test Manager(s) to identify high level target tests to include; Regression, Functional, cross Business
  • Independently analyze requirements, identify testing gaps, uncover risks, raise concerns, and propose quality improvements
