About The Position

NTT DATA Federal Services is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to support federal digital transformation initiatives and mission-critical systems. The role applies software testing expertise in Agile environments and uses AI-powered testing tools to improve software quality and delivery speed. Testing spans web, cloud, API, data integration, and enterprise applications, with a focus on quality engineering throughout the software development lifecycle.

The QA Tester develops and executes test strategies, plans, scripts, and automation; validates functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria; analyzes and helps resolve defects; and supports Section 508 and federal standards compliance. The role works across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies and collaborates with cross-functional teams and federal stakeholders. It also uses AI-assisted tools to support test generation, requirement analysis, risk identification, defect triage, and reporting, while validating generated outputs against enterprise standards.

The position is based in Rockville, Maryland, and is identified as hybrid. The starting pay range is $83,204–$124,806, with potential incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience developing and executing functional, regression, and integration tests.
• At least 1 year of experience with one or more automation frameworks: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
• At least 1 year of experience testing APIs using Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• At least 1 year of experience using defect tracking and test management platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or qTest.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Federal government project experience.
• Experience with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab.
• Experience with accessibility and Section 508 testing.
• Exposure to performance and security testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate system functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Perform root-cause analysis of defects and partner with development teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility requirements and federal standards.
• Support testing across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid development methodologies.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated testing frameworks and scripts.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support automated UI, API, and regression testing.
• Improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort through automation.
• Use AI-assisted testing tools and agents to generate test cases and data, analyze requirements and user stories, identify gaps and risks, accelerate defect triage and root-cause analysis, and produce quality dashboards and reports.
• Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure compliance with enterprise quality standards.
• Recommend AI-driven process improvements and partner with teams implementing Generative AI, AI agents, and intelligent automation solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning activities.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Architects, and federal stakeholders.
• Track quality metrics and provide clear release recommendations.
• Mentor junior QA team members and promote quality best practices.
