About The Position

For more than 76 years, Spice World has been passionate about bringing everyone a world full of flavor, year-round. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be required to monitor, document and enforce GMP, Quality Assurance (QA), Food Safety (FS) and Legal Compliance at Spice World, Jenard Fresh and company operated warehouses.

Requirements

  • Position availability for first or second shift.
  • Availability to work five days an eight to ten hours shifts from Monday to Friday and overtime hours as needed.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays and Sundays as per the department schedule.
  • High School Diploma, GED or (Technical / AEE Diploma) a plus.
  • At least two (2) years in a manufacture environment, preferably food preparation.
  • Utilize knowledge and requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Associate degree in science, preferably.
  • Basic understanding of written English and Spanish. Fully bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime and /or Saturdays.
  • Strong commitment to company goals and values.
  • Friendly and positive attitude.
  • Good communicator and listener.
  • General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, repair and service.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative testing of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of raw materials throughout the entire production process.
  • Conduct daily Pre-op Inspections and Corrective action documentation.
  • Daily GMP’s monitoring.
  • Perform product specification analysis based on customer specs.
  • Conduct standardized tests to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Record and compile test results.
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
  • Examine samples to identify extraneous material.
  • Perform pH analysis on finished product and acidified water, as applicable.
  • Maintain shelf-life samples.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment.
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Conduct environmental sampling.
  • Maintain quality, food safety, HACCP records.
  • Calibration and sign off laboratory equipment.
  • Validation of X-ray device.
  • Maintain and verify sanitation records.
  • Prepare and refill chemical solutions for sanitation.
  • Update chemical inventory when use chemicals.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
