About The Position

The QA Technician works in the Quality Assurance Department and performs inspections, product quality checks, sample handling, and documentation for production and returned goods. The role helps identify and segregate nonconforming products, determine dispositions for returned goods, investigate certain customer complaints, and maintain quality records and samples. The technician also performs daily housekeeping to support a quality and safe working environment.

Requirements

Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Sound math skills, including percent calculations, averages, means, and standard deviation.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Proven reliability and responsibility.

Responsibilities

Inspect packing-line and grinder setups at the beginning of the day, verify readings, and record results.
Verify, inspect, and record grinder/dump executions and packing-line changes throughout the day.
Perform product quality checks after grinder or packing-line item changes, including roast color, moisture percentage, grind analysis, dust content, and weights.
Document quality-check results.
Identify and segregate nonconforming goods for proper disposition and notify the QA Supervisor or Lead QA Technician.
Visually inspect returned goods delivered by the warehouse; analyze goods when necessary and record results.
Determine the disposition of returned goods.
Receive and analyze certain customer complaints.
Retrieve acceptable production samples of each blend and forward them to the Cupping Lab for sensory analysis.
Log blend-change samples and quality issues for ISO purposes.
Maintain and update physical blend target samples.
Perform daily housekeeping in the work area to maintain a quality and safe working environment.
Collect, organize, and set up product samples for sensory cupping.
