About The Position

Printpack Jackson is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Quality Technician. The primary area of responsibility for the Quality Technician position is to ensure compliant, high-quality products are received, manufactured and shipped to Printpack customers, supporting the Blown-film and Converting operations through use of quality management systems, work instructions, test methods and documentation that governs the processes. This position is for a 12 hr day shift (7a-7p) working on a 2/2/3 schedule. Pay starts at $19.96/hr

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and revise manufacturing instructions in English
  • Functional computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets, standard office software)
  • Ability to use basic office equipment (copier, printer, tablet, etc.)
  • Ability to learn and perform quality tests using test equipment
  • Clear understanding of measuring tools and test equipment (tape measure)
  • Effective Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work other shifts as needed for coverage
  • Participation in continuous improvement team(s)

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a team player who respectfully communicates, shares knowledge and cooperates with other PPK team members
  • Provide accurate product testing per established specifications
  • Prevent all potentially non-conforming material from leaving the facility
  • Initiate “Hold” tags for Converting and Films non-conforming products
  • Review job jackets and Specs for accurate information
  • Gather and enter production data into PRISM system
  • Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot lab equipment
  • Review all samples for visual and physical defects
  • Provide testing feedback to operating associates
  • Participate in special testing and compliant investigations
  • Be actively involved with ISO internal auditing systems
  • Perform SOC audits daily
  • Understand and complete accurate work in computer programs (PRISM, Excel, GoAudits)
  • Basic clerical skills (documentation, filing, data entry supply orders, inventory)
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area
