About The Position

This position will assist with several Corporate Quality Assurance (QA) projects. Responsibilities include evaluating GTIN numbers for products, determining updates, assessing customer impact, developing customer communications, and updating systems. The intern will also assist with entering and updating documents and QA data into customer 3rd party portals (TraceGains, Syndigo, Repositrak, etc.), entering chemical hazard data into the ERP system, performing annual supplier and raw material vulnerability checks in various 3rd party portals, and transferring data for BRCGS Food Safety Audit non-compliance metrics. Other corporate QA projects may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in business, or food industry related subject (or enrolled and working towards completion of degree).

  • Able to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit or stand.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner and follow company policies regarding safety.
  • Required to report any and all injuries immediately to the supervisor.
  • Required to report to supervision any safety situation that the employee feels is substandard and poses a risk for employee injury, property damage, or loss.
  • Required to be trained on and adhere to the FDA Current Good Manufacturing Policies as set forth by the Company as they pertain to personnel practices, equipment and facilities.
  • Must be aware of their work environment and prevent any accidental or intentional adulteration of the products produced at the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of GTIN numbers for products, based on requirements, determining which ones need to be updated, evaluating customers who receive product, developing communication to customer about changes, updating systems, as appropriate.
  • Assist entering and updating documents and QA data into various customer 3rd party portals (TraceGains, Syndigo, Repositrak, etc.).
  • Enter chemical hazard data (heavy metals & mycotoxins) obtained from suppliers into ERP system.
  • Annual supplier & raw material vulnerability checks in various 3rd party portals, including: food fraud, HorizonScan, Organic Integrity Database, etc. documenting updates and escalating if there are findings.
  • BRCGS Food Safety Audit non-compliance metrics – transfer data from spreadsheets to new system for automated metrics tracking.
  • Other corporate QA projects as assigned.
