About The Position

Under general supervision, performs quality assurance support for the Quality Assurance (QA) team. Typical job duties are routine and require use of standard techniques and procedures. This role involves the initial preparation of quality assurance documents and procedures, and assisting all levels of division or project personnel in quality related matters. The position may involve performing surveillances and inspections according to applicable procedures and reporting the results to line management. Additionally, it may include inspecting material and equipment for compliance with purchase order specifications and quality requirements, and assisting in the preparation of project audit schedules, QA function activity plans, and audit reports, noting nonconformances and verifying corrective actions. The role also assists project management in developing orientation programs for project teams regarding the Project Quality Plan and acts as a quality program assessor, potentially following up on assessment findings and corrective actions. Responsibilities extend to assisting in the maintenance of project QA records and providing administrative or functional support to the management team. The role requires performing duties of moderate complexity and maintaining knowledge of and ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, while actively participating in Safety Work Groups.

  • Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
  • Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
  • Radiological training shall be required.
  • Ability to wear respirator and other protective equipment to enter various types of potentially hazardous areas (such as but not limited to chemical, dust fumes, mists, heat stress factors, etc.).
  • Ability to carry several instruments/equipment or tools while walking extensively. Potential prolonged walking/standing, repeated pushing/pulling.
  • Ability to perform medium to very heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, non-repetitive, up to 50 pounds of force frequently (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
  • Potential for prolonged driving of or riding in a motor vehicle, machine operation, and/or working around moving equipment/machinery or motorized vehicles (such as but not limited to car, truck, golf cart, gator, heavy equipment).

Responsibilities

  • May inspect material and equipment for compliance to purchase order specification and/or applicable quality requirements
  • Assists in the preparation of project audit schedules, discipline activity plans for the QA function, and audit reports (internal and external), noting nonconformance and verifying effective corrective action
  • Assists project management in developing an orientation program to ensure project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan
  • Acts as a quality program assessor and may follow up on assessment findings and corrective actions
  • Responsible for initial preparation of quality assurance documents and procedures, and assisting all levels of division or project personnel in contractor assurance related matters
  • May perform surveillances, inspections and assessments in accordance to the applicable site or department procedure. Provide the results of these assessments to line management
  • Assists in the maintenance of project QA records for all phases of the project
  • Provides assigned administrative or functional support to the management team
  • Performs duties moderately complex in nature
  • Other job related duties as assigned
