About The Position

The QA/QC Supervisor will be responsible for planning and conducting analysis, inspection, design, testing, and integration to ensure the quality of assigned products or components. This role involves performing quality engineering reviews of design documentation, engaging with the General Contractor's Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning and project compliance, attending project update meetings, and reviewing purchased products. The supervisor will document quality assurance activities, communicate significant issues and recommendations to management, prepare reports and technical presentations, and direct technical and administrative workers. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of QA/QC.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control focused on ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields.
  • Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • At least 3 years of experience leading and managing direct reports.
  • Proficient understanding of ASME Section IX BP&V Code and experience creating and reviewing welding procedures and welder or brazer qualifications.
  • Excellent time management and written and spoken communication skills, highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; with 10 years of overall experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Engage with the General Contractor's Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, quality audits.
  • Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities, status and deadlines.
  • Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of QA/QC in conjunction with the project team.
