About The Position

The QA/QC Process Piping role performs quality-control inspections and maintains associated documentation for process piping systems in a cleanroom environment. The position inspects fabricated and installed piping, mechanical equipment, skids, modular systems, and components against project specifications, and verifies that components are submitted and approved in accordance with project drawings and specifications. It coordinates compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local requirements. The role conducts or oversees required testing and inspections, including nondestructive testing, visual and borescope inspections, pressure-test witnessing, and witnessing flushing, cleaning, and passivation. It reviews and approves quality plans, inspection and test plans, welding procedures and qualifications, inspection procedures, and installation records. Inspection documentation is uploaded to the project EIDA electronic documentation system, and the position participates in turnover package documentation. The position verifies inspector and welder qualifications, monitors welding quality and welder rejection trends, and initiates and maintains surveillance reports and non-conformance reports when adverse findings arise. It also inspects mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and function, reports equipment problems and deficiencies, and checks work for compliance with applicable codes and standards. The work includes frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand and finger use, and talking or hearing. It may involve climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, working near moving mechanical parts or at heights, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and occasionally lifting or moving more than 20 pounds. The employee must be able to wear specified personal protective equipment and safely access indoor and outdoor inspection locations, including ladders, stairs, catwalks, and uneven surfaces. The work environment is usually moderately noisy.
