QA Lab Technician
About The Position
The QA Lab Technician is responsible for collecting, preparing, and testing samples in a laboratory setting. This role involves meticulous record-keeping, data analysis, and equipment maintenance. The technician must ensure sanitary conditions are maintained and perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors. The position requires flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently. A strong work ethic, good attendance, and effective communication skills are essential. Basic computer skills and time management abilities are also necessary. The role may involve working in varying temperatures and exposure to chemicals, requiring the use of protective equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Eager willingness to learn.
- Flexibility required.
- Extended shifts may be required.
- Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
- Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
- Have a good attendance history – 2 points or less.
- Be willing to be cross-trained and learn all tasks in the department.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Know how to effectively manage time to complete all assigned tasks.
- Be able to communicate effectively with other hourly employees, plant management, and USDA personnel.
Responsibilities
- Collecting, preparing, and/or testing samples.
- Keeping an accurate and legible record of all testing completed.
- Recording, analyzing data and presenting results.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment.
- Ensuring sanitary conditions are always maintained in the laboratory area.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
