About The Position

Curtiss-Wright is seeking a QA Inspector to join its Fleet Solutions team at its Chesapeake, Virginia facility. The role performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality control in manufacturing. The QA Inspector uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and is responsible for accepting or rejecting items and ordering rework when needed. Fleet Solutions supports the U.S. Navy fleet through overhaul and repair, testing, and parts sales for a range of equipment, including air compressors, turbines, valves, pumps, strainers, PLCs, blowers, and water purification systems. The position is onsite and may involve exposure to information controlled under ITAR or EAR regulations. Applicants must be U.S. persons, and the role requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.
3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience using hand measurement tools for precision measurement.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

CMM measurement experience.
Experience reading and interpreting technical part drawings, schematics, and/or blueprints.
Bachelor's degree or technical/trade school accreditation.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections of components, parts, raw materials, and material test reports to ensure compliance with accepted standards.
Perform first article and process inspections of machined parts and components.
Perform dimensional inspections of parts to verify compliance with design specifications.
Accept or reject items and order rework when necessary.
