About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated QA Inspector to join our team on the 2nd shift. This entry-level position is responsible for ensuring the quality of our custom labels and pressure-sensitive label stock by performing various inspections and tests. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to use measuring tools, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves working closely with production staff to communicate quality issues and ensure a smooth production flow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to use dimensional measuring tools (such as rulers, calipers, and gauges) and perform basic tests used in the printing industry.
  • Strong ability to visually inspect color, unwind direction, die cuts, perforations, and overall print quality.
  • Able to read and understand job packets, blueprints, data, manuals, and other documents related to specifications and inspection procedures.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting product and recording results.
  • Comfortable standing and walking in a production environment and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Required vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Up to 2 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing or printing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections of custom labels and pressure-sensitive label stock to ensure they meet customer and internal specifications.
  • Inspect, test, and measure materials and products using tools such as rulers, calipers, or gauges to verify dimensions and quality.
  • Check print quality, color, registration, die cutting, perforations, unwind direction, and overall appearance of labels.
  • Compare colors, shapes, textures, and grades to approved samples or color charts to confirm conformance to standards.
  • Mark items with acceptance/rejection status and follow procedures to reject or discard products that do not meet specifications.
  • Collect samples for testing and document all inspection and test results clearly and accurately.
  • Operate inspection and testing equipment safely and follow all company safety rules.
  • Work closely with production staff to communicate quality issues and help maintain smooth production flow.
