About The Position

The QA Inspector I is an entry-level quality position at SEMPAC, a privately owned company devoted to designing, developing, and manufacturing pre-molded Open-Cavity Semiconductor Packages. The role inspects materials and products, documents inspection results, identifies obvious defects, and supports manufacturing operations while learning company quality systems and inspection methods. Successful candidates receive on-the-job training in inspection methods, quality documentation, microscope operation, defect identification, and company quality procedures.

Requirements

Use tweezers and small tools under a microscope.
Attention to detail and basic math skills.
Ability to read and follow work instructions.
Basic computer skills.
Strong willingness to learn.
Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment while following quality and handling requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform visual inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished products using microscopes and magnification equipment.
Assist with incoming inspections and identify common defects such as stains, voids, and plating issues.
Inspect parts using established procedures and work instructions.
Escalate questionable conditions and nonconforming material to QA Inspector II or management for disposition.
Perform component cleaning and basic rework according to documented procedures.
Conduct quality checks on kitted orders using approved checklists.
Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality documentation according to established procedures.
Learn to operate testing and inspection equipment.
Package approved parts for shipment according to handling requirements.
Support production and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
