About The Position

Blue Yonder Defense Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our product development team supporting software solutions for government customers. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and compliant applications through rigorous testing, validation, and process improvement. The ideal candidate has strong experience in both manual and automated testing, understands secure and compliant development environments, and is comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams in Agile settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
  • Strong understanding of manual and automated testing techniques
  • Strong understanding of bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
  • Familiarity with APIs and backend testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST clients)
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • US citizen ONLY
  • Active or eligible for U.S. Government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing
  • Validate software against business, technical, and compliance requirements
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Continuously improve test coverage and efficiency
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures
  • Ensure applications meet government standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC)
  • Validate security controls and participate in vulnerability testing efforts
  • Support audit readiness through proper documentation and traceability
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and security teams
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and standards
  • Conduct performance, load, and stress testing as required
  • Analyze system behavior under various conditions and recommend improvements
  • Maintain detailed test documentation and traceability matrices
  • Provide clear and concise test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders
