About The Position

What began as a three-person basement project that has developed into an industry-leading POS system with a team of over 100 employees in its Toronto, Ontario-based office. Volanté’s point of sale software has evolved based on customer requests and requirements, and has continuously demonstrated its ability to be flexible, scalable, and reliable in diverse environments. We are looking for a motivated QA Engineer who would work closely with the Engineering and Product teams. With a never-ending thirst for innovation and an increased workload, we’re calling on Toronto’s top tech talent to join the family! We are looking for an innovative individual for the role of Quality Assurance Engineer to successfully deliver a highly complex SaaS based Application development, deployment, and customer migration project. The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and the successful candidate will require independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload.

Requirements

  • Preferably 3-8 years of professional experience in Performance testing software systems that run on java microservices.
  • Completed a degree or Master’s program in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar streams.
  • Knowledge of software and/or testing methodologies.
  • Good programming skills (Java, C, C++, JavaScript, or similar)
  • Experience with data structures or algorithms gathered from inside or outside of school or work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in API & UI Automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on building a performance testing architecture & performance testing the cloud based microservices and Point of Sale application.
  • Test and try to break the next generation Volanté product that runs on the latest technologies using advanced testing techniques.
  • Execute test cases manually and using automation scripts with continuous integration tools such as TeamCity, Xray and analyze test results.
  • Attend Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, refinement, planning, and retrospective sessions.
  • Have an exploratory mindset while testing and work with other teams to resolve them.
