About The Position

The QA Engineer Automated will support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on the PCS Contract Operations team. This position is responsible for performing Quality Assurance activities for an application that is part of an initiative to enhance and update the System Contract Operating and Reporting (SCOR) application. The role focuses on creating a more robust and comprehensive system for agency contract management, monitoring, and compliance activities. The contractor will work within the Administrative Applications Software Quality Assurance team to develop, maintain, and execute both automated and manual test cases across multiple environments.

Requirements

10 years of experience with manual test script execution.
8 years of experience with automated QA testing.
8 years of experience with QA test script creation.
8 years of experience with performance testing.
Experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice To Haves

5 years of experience with QA automated test case reporting.
5 years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, Playwright, WebdriverIO, or JMeter.
3 years of experience with Agile, Scrum, Jira, XRay, or Zephyr.
3 years of experience with accessibility testing.
Candidates must already reside in the Austin, Texas area. Out-of-state candidates or candidates planning to relocate are not eligible for this position.
All travel, per diem, parking, and living expenses are the responsibility of the candidate.
The candidate may be required to work outside of normal business hours on evenings, weekends, and holidays as requested; any hours over 40 per week must be pre-approved by Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar automation technology.
Develop and maintain test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
Perform manual testing as required across development, test, UAT, and production environments.
Track test case execution and establish regular automated schedules for test cases and required reporting.
Use Jira to log and track defects identified during testing activities.
Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices.
Lead UAT testing activities as needed and support the development team throughout the software lifecycle.
Troubleshoot test cases and provide on-call support as needed.
Determine priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement those scenarios.
Design documentation for automated processes and testing procedures.
