QA Automation Lead
About The Position
Derex Technologies Inc is seeking a QA Automation Lead with expertise in Oneshield and Automation within the P&C insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the Hiscox client. This role involves leading test plans, strategies, and methodologies for testing rate calculation functionalities in P&C insurance software applications like OneShield and Earnix. The position requires defining testing scope, objectives, and timelines, performing both manual and automated testing of rate calculation functionalities, and developing/maintaining automated test scripts. Collaboration with business analysts, product owners, and developers is key, as is identifying test scenarios for comprehensive coverage of rate calculation logic. The role also includes communicating effectively with stakeholders, providing technical leadership and guidance to junior QA team members, and mentoring them on best practices, methodologies, and tools. A strong understanding of P&C insurance (Personal and Commercial Lines), proficiency in Agile methodologies, and experience with test management tools like Jira and Xray are essential. Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills are required. Experience in an Agile environment following Onsite-Offshore mode, basic Python scripting knowledge, and experience in AI-assisted Quality Assurance are also beneficial.
Requirements
- Oneshield and Automation exp with P&C
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance, including both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile environments.
- Solid knowledge of test management tools such as Jira and Xray
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen diligence.
- Experience working in Agile environment following Onsite Offshore mode.
- Basic understanding of Python scripting
- Experience in AI assisted Quality Assurance

Responsibilities
- Lead the test plans, strategies, and methodologies for testing rate calculation functionalities within P&C insurance software applications - OneShield and Earnix
- Define testing scope, objectives, and timelines in alignment with project requirements and business goals.
- Perform both manual and automated testing of rate calculation functionalities, including verifying rate tables, rating algorithms, and premium calculations.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks to streamline testing efforts.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and developers to analyze rate calculation requirements, rate manuals, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify test scenarios and ensure comprehensive test coverage to validate rate calculation logic.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business analysts, product owners, developers, and project managers.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior members of the QA team, including mentoring on testing best practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Lead the development of comprehensive test plans, strategies, and methodologies for testing rate calculation functionalities within P&C insurance software applications.
- Mentor junior performance team members, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to help them grow and develop in their roles.
