About The Position

We are hiring a Lead QA Automation Engineer with deep, production-grade expertise in Playwright, including advanced capabilities like Playwright MCP (Model Context Protocol) and Agent creation. This is a hands-on leadership role — the candidate will design and scale automation frameworks from the ground up, drive migration from legacy tools like Selenium, mentor a team of automation engineers, and serve as the primary technical point of contact for senior client stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of total QA experience, with 5+ years in test automation
  • 3+ years of hands-on, production-grade experience with Playwright (TypeScript)
  • Advanced Playwright knowledge — Playwright MCP and Playwright Agent creation
  • Strong hands-on TypeScript scripting experience
  • Proven experience designing and scaling automation frameworks from scratch
  • Prior experience in Selenium (framework design, scripting) with successful migration/enhancement to Playwright
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools — Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps — and Git
  • ADO (Azure DevOps) knowledge — work item tracking, pipelines, test plans
  • Strong grasp of API automation, Page Object Model (POM), and cross-browser testing
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring an automation team (5–10 members)
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies — STLC, Agile testing quadrants, risk-based testing, exploratory testing
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in direct client-facing roles

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Java, Python, or C# in addition to TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Playwright-BDD)
  • Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter)
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for test environment management
  • Experience with cloud-based test execution platforms (BrowserStack, LambdaTest, Sauce Labs)
  • Exposure to visual regression testing tools
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
  • Experience with broader AI-assisted testing tools beyond Playwright Agent
  • Prior involvement in QA hiring, onboarding, or training programs
  • Basic understanding of accessibility testing

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own scalable Playwright automation frameworks from scratch
  • Lead migration/enhancement of existing Selenium-based automation suites to Playwright
  • Architect and implement Playwright MCP integrations and Playwright Agent-based automation for advanced/AI-assisted testing workflows
  • Develop, review, and optimize automation scripts across UI, API, and cross-browser test suites
  • Lead and mentor an automation team of 5–10 engineers — assign tasks, review code, and enforce framework standards
  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines and drive shift-left testing practices
  • Own STLC, test strategy, and risk-based/exploratory testing approaches across the team
  • Track and report automation KPIs (coverage, flakiness, execution time, ROI) to leadership and clients
  • Act as the primary technical liaison in daily client interactions, ensuring delivery quality and timelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical/framework issues raised by the team
