JR QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER
About The Position
The Software Development team of Cadence Innovations Group is in search of a detail-oriented, data-savvy individual familiar with automation methodologies and technologies to facilitate development of our products and services in an agile environment. Junior QA Automation Engineers collaborate with Developers, Product teams as well as other stakeholders to create an automated test plan to evaluate data integrity and fitness as well as evaluate and test reports to verify functionality and accuracy according to specifications and standards. Constructive and professional interaction with others is a must. Working with the Development Manager, Product teams, and other stakeholders our Jr. QA Automation Engineers provide essential support in meeting deadlines and ensuring product quality. Cadence Innovations Group, Inc. is the parent company to many business entities, the most notable of these companies is Alpha Warranty Services, an award-winning provider of vehicle protection products and services. The Cadence IT and Development Team is a shared service that works with each entity to provide expert technical support. THIS IS A FULL TIME, IN-OFFICE POSITION
Requirements
- 2+ years education in IS, CS, or related/technical, or 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience developing QA Automation tests and generating test reports and metrics is needed
- Experience testing web/mobile apps, API testing including Load & Performance testing, Data quality testing and UI testing
- Experience with defect tracking tools, such as JIRA or DevOps
- Working knowledge of SQL is preferred
- Working knowledge of testing tools like Postman, Selenium, Karate, JMeter or other automation tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group settings to stakeholders, clients, and fellow team members
- Exceptional problem-solving/critical thinking and root cause analysis skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as DevOps – preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Identify, write, run, and maintain automated tests for APIs, data validation, report/visualization testing, and webpage functionality
- Provide manual application and data testing support as needed
- Work with stakeholders to schedule test runs and provide reports of the results
- Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks/systems to support automated data validation and report/visualization testing
- Work with stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain automated utilities to facilitate manual testing efforts
- Log, track, and verify defects using provided defect tracking tools
