About The Position

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to establish and scale quality engineering across Duetti. This is a rare opportunity to build a quality engineering function from the ground up. As Duetti continues to scale, we are looking for an engineer who can define our testing strategy, build our automation infrastructure, establish quality standards, and create the processes that ensure our products remain reliable as the company grows. This is not a traditional QA role operating within an established quality organization. You will be responsible for designing and implementing many of the systems, frameworks, and practices that will become the foundation of quality engineering at Duetti. We are looking for an engineer who views testing as a software engineering challenge and can build scalable systems that automate quality assurance across our products and platforms. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Data, Research, and Leadership to improve release confidence, reduce production incidents, and ensure our rapidly growing platform remains stable and reliable. This role offers a unique opportunity to define how quality engineering operates at Duetti and have a direct impact on the company’s ability to scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation, SDET, Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, or related roles.
• Experience building automated testing frameworks and quality processes from scratch in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Experience owning release validation processes and quality gates.
• Proven track record improving product quality and reducing production defects.
• Experience operating independently and driving initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience testing APIs and backend services.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated regression test suites.
• Experience integrating testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tooling.
• Experience with SQL and data validation techniques.
• Understanding of cloud-based applications and distributed systems.
• Experience testing modern web applications, internal business tools, and data-intensive systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Ability to break down complex workflows into structured test scenarios.

• Experience with AI-powered applications, LLM evaluation frameworks, or agent-based systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build Automated Testing Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks across Duetti products. Develop end-to-end testing solutions for web applications, APIs, and backend services. Create automated regression test suites for critical business workflows. Build reusable testing frameworks and utilities that can be leveraged across multiple products. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes. Establish quality engineering best practices and standards from the ground up.
• Own Product Quality: Define testing strategies and quality standards across the organization. Establish release validation processes and quality gates. Ensure critical workflows are validated before every release. Monitor quality metrics and identify areas for improvement. Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to reduce production incidents and improve release confidence.
• Define Testing Plans and Scenarios: Develop comprehensive test plans for new features and major releases. Identify high-risk workflows and edge cases. Create test scenarios based on business requirements and user behavior. Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure acceptance criteria are properly validated. Ensure sufficient test coverage exists across all major systems.
• Perform Exploratory and Manual Testing: Validate new features through hands-on testing. Explore products from the perspective of end users and internal stakeholders. Identify usability issues, unexpected behavior, and workflow gaps. Reproduce and document defects in a structured and actionable manner. Participate in release readiness reviews and launch validation activities.
• Partner Across Teams: Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand requirements and expected behavior. Work with engineers throughout the development lifecycle to identify quality risks early. Participate in roadmap planning and release discussions. Help create a culture where quality is a shared responsibility across the organization.
