QA Automation Engineer III
About The Position
Assyst is seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer III for a client engagement based in the Austin, Texas area. Candidates must be local to the Austin area, as the program only permits local candidates. The selected candidate will support quality assurance activities for a contract operations application that is part of a broader initiative to modernize and enhance agency contract management, monitoring, compliance, and reporting capabilities. This role is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining both automated and manual test solutions to ensure application quality and performance in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation frameworks such as Playwright, hands-on experience with manual and automated testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively across development, testing, UAT, and production support teams.
Requirements
- Experience with manual test script execution
- Experience in automated QA testing
- Experience creating and maintaining QA test scripts
- Experience with performance testing
- Experience generating QA automated test case reports
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments
- Experience using Jira, XRay, or Zephyr for defect and test management
- Experience with accessibility testing
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in automation frameworks such as Playwright
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright or similar automation technologies
- Create and maintain manual and automated QA test scripts
- Perform manual testing activities as required
- Develop automated test execution schedules and generate required QA reports
- Track and document test execution results and defect status
- Use Jira and related tools to log, monitor, and manage defects
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
- Perform performance testing and support overall application quality initiatives
- Conduct accessibility testing to ensure compliance standards are met
- Collaborate with development and project teams within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Support testing activities across development, QA, UAT, and production environments
- Troubleshoot failed test cases and provide issue resolution support
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities when required
- Participate in on-call support activities as needed
