About The Position

This role is responsible for a variety of supervisory activities including scheduling, training, coaching, and making recommendations to the QA Supervisor about performance, hiring and termination decisions. The QA Assistant Supervisor will participate in the transitions between shifts and communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management. This position involves preparing routine and special reports documenting testing activities, test results, and operational issues related to product quality and safety, such as swab tests, finished product tests, and HACCP audits. The QA Assistant Supervisor will also ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in areas such as safety, employment, quality, work rules, good manufacturing practices, and hazard analysis and critical control points. This is achieved by communicating requirements to employees, validating understanding, and correcting behavior as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Planning, organizing, coordinating, and leadership skills.
Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.

Responsibilities

Scheduling, training, coaching, and making recommendations regarding performance, hiring, and termination decisions.
Participating in shift transitions and communicating key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
Preparing routine and special reports documenting testing activities, test results, and operational issues involving product quality and safety (e.g., swab tests, finished product tests, HACCP audits).
Ensuring operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (safety, employment, quality, work rules, GMP, HACCP, etc.) by communicating requirements, validating understanding, and correcting behavior.
Performing other duties as assigned.
