About The Position

This role is responsible for a variety of supervisory activities including scheduling, training, coaching, and making recommendations to the QA Supervisor regarding performance, hiring, and termination decisions. The QA Assistant Supervisor will also participate in shift transitions, communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management, and prepare routine and special reports documenting testing activities, results, and operational issues related to product quality and safety. This includes reports on swab tests, finished product tests, and HACCP audits. The position ensures operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in areas such as safety, employment, quality, work rules, good manufacturing practices, and hazard analysis and critical control points. This is achieved by communicating requirements to employees, validating understanding, and correcting behavior as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Planning, organizing, coordinating and leadership skills.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, or a related field, or equivalent amount of relevant experience and education.

Responsibilities
