About The Position

Our client, a major bank in New York City, is looking for a Senior Python UI Developer Consultant. This is an initial 3-6 month contract with the possibility of extensions and an option to hire. The role requires 5 days on-site in the NYC Office. The company is seeking candidates authorized to work for ANY employer in the US, with NO H1 Visa support for this role. The rate is $65-70/h on W2, with possible C2C as well.

Requirements

  • Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and enterprise integration solutions.
  • Expertise with API design, implementation, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with: OAuth2 Authentication, Bearer Token Authentication, API Key Security Models
  • Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and API payload design.
  • Experience implementing: Error handling frameworks, Retry logic, Idempotency controls, Monitoring and observability solutions
  • Experience building distributed and event-driven systems.
  • Strong understanding of application security and secure communication protocols.
  • Experience working within cloud-enabled and enterprise application environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Structured Products.
  • Experience with Derivatives products and workflows.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end Trade Lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting front-office trading platforms.
  • Direct experience integrating with one or more vendor platforms such as: SIMON, Luma, HALO
  • Ability to work effectively with Trading, Sales, Quantitative Research, and Technology teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver solutions within fast-paced front-office environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within investment banking, broker-dealer, or capital markets environments.
  • Familiarity with structured products issuance, distribution, and lifecycle management platforms.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of market data, pricing systems, and risk platforms.
  • Understanding of regulatory and operational controls within financial services.
  • Master's degree in a technical or quantitative field.
  • Relevant industry certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade RESTful API integrations supporting Structured Products and Derivatives businesses.
  • Build seamless connectivity between internal pricing, trading, and risk platforms and external vendor platforms including SIMON, Luma, HALO, and similar structured products ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with Front Office Trading, Sales, Quantitative Research, Product Control, and Technology teams to define integration requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Design and maintain API contracts, payload mappings, data transformation frameworks, and integration specifications.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth2, API Keys, Bearer Tokens, and related security standards.
  • Develop scalable and resilient distributed systems capable of supporting high-volume trading and transaction workflows.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, retry mechanisms, and error handling frameworks to ensure operational stability.
  • Support the complete trade lifecycle, including trade capture, pricing, execution, allocation, and downstream processing.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, production support, and system optimization initiatives.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to support deployment automation and platform reliability.
  • Produce technical documentation, integration specifications, and support procedures.
