About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Python Software Architect to design, build, and continuously enhance enterprise-grade applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on robust, secure, high-performance Python systems operating in distributed and mission-critical production environments. The architect will work with product, data, and infrastructure teams to turn complex business problems into technical solutions, identify root causes, and promote strong engineering practices. The position is 100% remote within the United States and is full-time, direct W2 employment. The listed annual salary range is $100,000–$150,000. Applicants must be eligible to work under one of the stated categories; the employer is unable to sponsor new H-1B visa petitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least five years of applied Python development experience in enterprise-grade environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining large-scale production applications with significant uptime and reliability requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including query tuning and schema design.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, test, release, and ongoing support.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, automated testing, and operational support.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computational efficiency, with the ability to make sound design trade-offs.
  • Experience debugging and maintaining complex enterprise applications in production.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, application resiliency patterns, and secure coding standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in dynamic environments and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong shell scripting skills in UNIX/Linux environments and familiarity with command-line tooling.
  • Grounding in mathematical and statistical concepts and ability to translate them into code.
  • Hands-on experience with Python data and machine learning tools, including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native storage technologies such as S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot complex enterprise-grade Python applications, including novel and non-trivial technical problems.
  • Write secure, high-quality, production-ready Python code and implement algorithms suited to distributed systems, considering concurrency, fault tolerance, and observability.
  • Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure development follows design constraints, performance requirements, and enterprise standards.
  • Develop and optimize data processing for large datasets, including extraction, transformation, validation, deduplication, enrichment, and performance tuning for batch and near-real-time workloads.
  • Analyze diverse datasets to improve applications and business processes, identifying measurable opportunities in product outcomes, reliability, or cost.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms, dashboards, and data visualizations to support operational insights when required.
  • Identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and architectural weaknesses and improve coding standards, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, conduct peer code reviews, participate in architecture discussions, and mentor less-senior engineers.
  • Participate in Agile development and CI/CD processes, supporting stable deployments with appropriate testing, rollback, and monitoring strategies.
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, operations engineers, and business analysts to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Support operational stability through incident response, debugging, log analysis, post-incident reviews, and preventative measures.
